x402 payments

Planned

x402 is an external HTTP payment protocol. Monolythium may integrate with it in the future, but no supported Monolythium or Stele x402 payment path is available today.

The legacy lyth-mcp source tree contains experimental external-wallet and x402 helpers. They are not a released Stele capability, have not cleared the current economic-execution gates, and must not be treated as an approved custody, signing, submission, receipt, retry, or spending-policy implementation. This documentation intentionally does not publish operational payment instructions for them.

Before an x402 route can be documented as usable, it needs:

  1. a versioned protocol and network/asset allowlist;
  2. dedicated low-value key isolation, never a person’s primary wallet;
  3. fail-closed origin, recipient, amount, expiry, and replay checks;
  4. race-safe policy and cap enforcement;
  5. exact signing-review UI and durable receipt/reconciliation behavior;
  6. independent security review and end-to-end tests against released clients.

The hosted Stele MCP remains keyless and cannot sign or submit payments. Stele economic writes and hosted signing are disabled, and a Stele inquiry or preview listing does not authorize x402 or any other payment.
